Balance

The biggest class balance changes

This is the shortest useful reading of the official balance section. Numbers shown below come directly from Re-Logic's changelog.

Melee

  • Chlorophyte Saber is now a stabbing weapon with 80 damage and the Spored debuff.
  • Chlorophyte Claymore now slams the ground and releases damaging spore clouds.
  • Paladin's Hammer now swings before throwing, with a larger projectile and 33% more first-hit damage.

Ranged

  • Rocket self-damage is now a flat 60 across all rocket weapons.
  • Nano Bullets add 25% total attack damage, while their base damage drops from 15 to 10.
  • Shroomite stealth can build while using items and now grants its full bonus while partly visible.

Magic

  • Mana regeneration delay is removed; mana regenerates during attacks at 5% of the normal rate.
  • Magic weapons can fire without enough mana at 40% attack speed.
  • Mana Stars grant a decaying 20% magic-damage Mana Surge, and Super Mana Potions restore 400 mana.

Summon

  • Whip stacking returns when the required accessories are equipped.
  • Whip tag effects are calculated independently of application order.
  • Electric Eel, Constellation, Durendal, and several minions receive mechanical reworks or upgrades.

Systems

Bosses, worlds, multiplayer, and quality of life

The update also changes attack readability, world generation, server behavior, and everyday inventory flow.

Bosses and enemies

  • Moon Lord and True Eyes of Cthulhu lose contact damage and gain clearer attack warnings.
  • Empress of Light's Everlasting Rainbow no longer hurts across most faded sections.
  • More enemies stop firing off-screen; Nailhead nail damage is heavily reduced on Expert and Master.

Worlds and seeds

  • Two new secret seeds were added.
  • Distressed Pal events are 25% more common and guarantee a Pal you do not have.
  • Aether generation without Shimmer is fixed, and minecart tracks avoid more hazards and containers.

Multiplayer

  • Player-specific drops are briefly reserved for the intended player.
  • Hotkey dashes and player direction now synchronize correctly.
  • Server disconnect handling, high-latency NPC damage, and a malicious packet exploit were addressed.

Quality of life

  • Favorited equipment can be shared between loadouts.
  • Dead players can skip the respawn timer when no major danger is nearby.
  • Duplicate quest fish can be picked up, and keys can be used directly on locked chests.

Major fixes worth knowing

The official list is much longer than this page. These fixes cover crashes, world safety, multiplayer item loss, controls, and visual problems.

  • Fixed multiple crashes involving Last Prism, rope in unloaded chunks, gamepad use, world counts, and autosave research.
  • Fixed instanced drops such as boss bags being deleted by the server.
  • Fixed dangerous teleport and spawn placements involving Spikes, Hellstone, and Dungeon tiles.
  • Fixed several multiplayer projectile, boss, minion, and holiday synchronization problems.
  • Fixed high-FPS flicker, hairstyle, mannequin, map-color, shader, and localization issues.

Terraria 1.4.5.7 questions

Is Terraria 1.4.5.7 out now?

Yes on PC. Re-Logic says console and mobile builds are in submissions and will release after approval; the official announcement gives no exact date.

Do I need a new world for 1.4.5.7?

The official announcement does not say existing worlds must be replaced. The two new secret seeds are world-creation content, so experiencing those specific seeds requires creating a world with them.

What is the biggest 1.4.5.7 gameplay change?

The patch is primarily a balance pass. Mana regeneration was rebuilt, whip stacking returned with accessories, multiple melee weapons were reworked, and ranged ammunition and stealth changed.

Does Terraria 1.4.5.7 include crossplay?

No. Re-Logic says Crossplay Phase One is expected next in version 1.4.6, unless a critical issue requires a 1.4.5.8 first.
