Terraria Shimmer questions
What is the fastest way to find Shimmer in Terraria?
Open the world file above to highlight every Shimmer tile and jump to the largest connected pool. In game, search the outer fifth of the world on the Jungle side in the Underground or Cavern layers.
Can you find Shimmer before Hardmode?
Yes. A natural Aether is created with eligible worlds and can be reached before defeating any boss. The Bottomless Shimmer Bucket is a later, post-Moon Lord source.
Why can’t I find Shimmer in my world?
First check the world’s creation version. Worlds made before 1.4.4 do not receive a natural Aether. In newer worlds, search deeper and farther toward the edge on the Jungle side.
Does every Terraria world have an Aether?
Worlds created in 1.4.4 or later normally generate one natural Aether. Older worlds are not retroactively updated with the mini-biome.
Can I move Shimmer closer to my base?
Pumps can move existing liquid. After defeating Moon Lord, the Bottomless Shimmer Bucket lets you place an unlimited supply elsewhere.
